Activities and sights in the national park
Stora Trollkyrkan and Lilla Trollkyrkan are two mountain peaks and the most well‑known sights in Tiveden National Park. The trail Trollkyrkerundan takes you up onto many of the park’s hills and through Tiveden’s dramatic crevice‑valley terrain. The trail starts and ends at the main entrance.
Junker Jägares sten is one of the largest and tallest glacial erratics in the national park. In the shady and moist surroundings around the boulder, many specialised mosses and lichens thrive.
The dramatic Stigmanspasset is a narrow crevice valley where the road is flanked by steep cliffs on both sides. You reach Stigmanspasset by following the trail Stigmansrundan, which begins and ends at the main entrance.
Stenkällerundan starts and ends at the main entrance and is the most popular trail in the national park. The trail leads you into dramatic old‑growth forest shaped by historical fires, and past the large boulders left behind by the inland ice. The rock formation Stenkällan, known as “the rock temple”, has been a popular excursion spot since the late 1800s.
In the area surrounding Tiveden National Park, there are around 150 kilometres of marked cycling routes and over 300 kilometres of riding trails. A section of Bergslagsleden passes through the eastern part of the national park.
