Staying in the park
Here you’ll find information about accommodation options in and around Skuleskogen National Park.
There are six overnight cabins in Skuleskogen National Park, all with simple standards. They are open all year round and cannot be booked in advance. Staying in the cabins is free of charge. There is also a simpler rest cabin available.
The overnight cabins have wooden sleeping platforms with mattresses, a wood-burning stove, tables and chairs. You need to bring your own sleeping bag and pillow, as well as cooking pots and any equipment you need for preparing food. A gas or alcohol stove is recommended.
Visitors may stay a maximum of two nights in the cabins. If you have already spent one night, you are expected to give priority to new arrivals.
Firewood is available in the woodsheds next to the cabins. Please remember to restock the firewood indoors before you leave.
During winter, the newer cabins in the park are easier to heat. These are the cabins at Skrattabborrtjärn, Näskebodarna and the large cabin on Tärnättholmen.
Before leaving the cabin, you must clean up after yourself and take all rubbish with you. Do not leave food or food packaging, as it attracts mice.
Camping
Between 1 May and 30 September, camping is only allowed at the designated camping areas in the national park. Tent sites are located near all overnight cabins, as well as along the shores at Kälsviken and at the outlet of Salsviken in the northern part of the park.
