Pieljekaise National Park lies in a roadless mountain area in the Arjeplog Mountains, between the villages of Jäkkvik and Adolfström. The national park is located in Arjeplog Municipality, Norrbotten County.
You can reach the area by car and bus.
Route to Jäkkvik
From the town of Arjeplog, it is 60 kilometres along Road 95, the Silver Road (Silvervägen), to Jäkkvik. This is a good starting point for visiting Pieljekaise. Here, the Kungsleden trail comes from the north and continues south through the national park.
Buses to Jäkkvik also operate from Skellefteå, via Arvidsjaur and Arjeplog.
Route to Adolfström
If you want to enter the national park from the south, turn off the Silver Road towards Adolfström, which Kungsleden also passes through. This route is about ten kilometres longer than the route to Jäkkvik.
The distance from Arjeplog to Adolfström is 74 kilometres.
Viejenäs and other starting points
You can also enter the national park via Viejenäs, or travel by snowmobile to other points along the park boundary. (Note: Snowmobiles are only permitted outside the national park.)
