From the car park, a wide gravel path leads to the national park entrance. The path is adapted for accessibility if you, for example, use a wheelchair. You may need assistance as there are some changes in elevation along the path.
At the entrance there are information signs about the national park. There is also a model of the national park made of black basalt.
At the car park there is also an accessible dry toilet and waste bins for your rubbish.
The Seasons in Norra Kvill National Park
In spring you can see several types of birds. Some examples are capercaillie, pygmy owl and black woodpecker. At the end of May there is a good chance of seeing common toad, moor frog and common frog in the lakes.
In summer the Labrador tea blooms next to Stora Idgölen and there is a pleasant scent of honey and warm pinewood on the south-facing slopes. In July to August the orchids bog orchid and creeping lady’s-tresses flower. Summer is the time of year when the park has the most visitors.
You can see and hear woodpeckers and capercaillie if you visit the national park in autumn. As the year turns into winter, you can experience the national park in its winter colours. Since the road to the park is not maintained in winter, there are few visitors then and you have a piece of wilderness to yourself!
