Activities and sights in the national park

In Djurö National Park, you can explore well‑preserved historic buildings and traces of the people who once lived on the island.

Djurö is also known for its lighthouse site, located on the northern point of the island. The lighthouse area has likely been used for several hundred years to warn boats about dangerous reefs. In the early days, beacon fires and iron pots were used. The first lighthouse was built in 1874 and was replaced in 1912 by the lighthouse that still stands there today.

There are several hiking trails that take you around the island. The trails are relatively easy to walk, with only moderate changes in elevation.
