Getting here

Here you’ll find information on how to get to Åsnen National Park. 

Åsnen National Park is located in Alvesta and Tingsryd municipalities, along the border with Växjö Municipality. The park has a main entrance at Sunnabron and another entrance at Trollberget on the western side of Lake Åsnen.

Entrances and parking

Sunnabron entrance (Main entrance)

The Sunnabron entrance is the main entrance to Åsnen National Park and is located in the north‑eastern part of the park.

Here you will find parking for around 40 cars, two buses, bicycle parking and parking for visitors with reduced mobility. There are also shelters, toilets, fire pits and an exhibition.

You can reach the Sunnabron entrance via:

  • Road 23 from Växjö to Huseby, continuing via Torne – Vrankunge
  • Roads 27 and 29 from Blekinge, and Road 120 via Tingsryd – Urshult – Sirkön
  • Roads 23 and 29 from Skåne – via Älmhult to Huseby – Torne – Vrankunge

Trollberget entrance

At the Trollberget entrance, there is parking for about 20 cars and two buses. Parking for visitors with reduced mobility is available closer to the information area and the lakeshore. Bicycle parking is located next to the information point on the Banvallsleden cycle route. There are also shelters, toilets, fire pits and an exhibition.

You can reach the Trollberget entrance via:

  • Road 23 from Skåne via Älmhult, and Road 126 via Gottåsa – Lönashult – Hulevik
  • Roads 27 and 29 from Blekinge; Road 120 via Tingsryd – Urshult; and Road 126 via Lönashult – Hulevik
  • Road 23 from Växjö via Huseby, and Road 126 via Gottåsa – Lönashult – Hulevik

By bicycle

The Round Lake Åsnen cycle route passes the Trollberget entrance. The route follows the disused railway embankment between Vislanda and Karlshamn.

By canoe

The Värendsleden canoe route passes through the western part of the national park.
