Purpose of the National Park: To preserve a representative cleft‑valley landscape with extensive old‑growth forests and other valuable natural environments.
Area: 1,962 hectares, of which 1,879 hectares are land
Nature: Pine forest, spruce forest, mixed coniferous forest, fire‑affected areas, rock outcrops, freshwater
Landowner: Swedish Environmental Protection Agency (Naturvårdsverket)
Manager: Tyresta Forest Foundation (Stiftelsen Tyrestaskogen)
Additional Information: Tyresta Nature Reserve surrounds the national park and functions as a protective buffer zone.
