Tresticklan National Park

Covering 30 square kilometres, the national park forms the largest roadless and uninhabited forest area in southern Sweden. Here, you can experience untouched forests, beautiful lakes and uniquely rugged terrain. From above, the landscape resembles a washboard: long, narrow ridges run from north to south, with mires and slender lakes lying between them.
The sparse and hardy pine forest, together with lichen‑ and moss‑covered bedrock and the many lakes, creates a peaceful environment where you can walk for days.

The gneiss in Stora Le – the Marstrand Formation – is one of the oldest rock types in western Sweden and was probably formed more than 1,650 million years ago.
