Part of the Laponia World Heritage Site
In 1996, the Laponia World Heritage Site was designated by UNESCO. Sarek National Park is part of Laponia together with the national parks Stora Sjöfallet/Stuor Muorkke, Muddus/Muttos and Padjelanta/Badjelánnda.
Laponia also includes the nature reserves Sjávnja/Sjaunja and Stubbá/Stubba, as well as the areas Sulidälbmá, Tjuoldavuobme and Ráhpaäno suorgudahka (the Lájtávrre Delta).
