Whether you want to walk along a marked trail, explore unique landscapes or pause at a viewpoint for a break, the parks offer plenty of ways for you to enjoy nature – from easy walks to scenic lookouts and deeper adventures into the wilderness. 

Activities and sights in the national park

In the park you can hike all or parts of the Padjelantaleden trail. The trail is a summer trail with bridges and boardwalks. In the south the trail begins in Kvikkjokk/Huhttán and in the north in Rijtjtem/Ritsem. Along the trail there are overnight cabins at distances of 10–20 kilometres.

Stáloluokta is located in the middle of the national park; you can hike or fly there. If you are in Stáloluokta you can take a trip up one of the mountain peaks, where you get a good view of the park’s rolling landscape and the large lakes. In the west you see the Norwegian mountains, in the south Sulidälbmá and in the east Sarek.

In the national park there is a rich plant life, and the flower display around the lake Virihávrre in the western part of the national park is one of the richest in the mountain region. The mountain Jiegŋáffo, the highest mountain in the park, is also known for the flowers growing there.

Basseuksa, the sacred door, is one of the most famous Sámi sacred sites in Sweden. It is located in Tarradalen and the trail Padjelantaleden runs two to three kilometres along the valley below it.
