Staying in the park

Here you’ll find information about accommodation options in and around Nämdöskärgården National Park.

You can camp or stay overnight on your own boat in the national park. During the summer and peak season, you can also rent a cabin on Bullerö or on one of the other islands in the area.

Camping

You may camp for up to two consecutive nights in the same place in most parts of the national park, except near buildings.

On Bullerö, there is a designated area for camping. It is free to camp there, and you may stay for more than two nights. On Bullerö, you also have access to a service building with drinking water, toilets, showers, a grill and an outdoor kitchen. You can also rent a wood-fired sauna.

Staying Overnight on Your Own Boat

You may stay overnight on your own boat for up to two nights in any of the natural harbours in the national park.

Please note that you may not land or go ashore in the bird protection areas during the periods when access is restricted. These areas are marked on the nautical charts.

In some shallow bays, anchoring, mooring or navigating is prohibited. These areas are currently being signposted, and the rules will apply from the 2026 season.

Traditional crofts on the Islands

There are three traditional crofts in the national park, located on different islands, which can be rented for a weekend or by the week. These are historic buildings where people lived for generations.

  • Skogavik on Braka – five beds
  • Hamnskär – two beds
  • Rågskär – eleven beds

All three crofts have simple standards. Each has an outdoor toilet, a gas stove for cooking and a small cool box for storing food. There is no electricity or running water. Solar panels power the cool box and can also be used to charge a mobile phone.
