Haparanda Skärgård National Park

The largest island in the national park is Sandskär, an island with varied nature and a fascinating history of seal hunters and shipwrecked sailors. There are many destinations to explore in the archipelago and along the coast. Here you’ll find everything from long sandy beaches to rich berry‑picking grounds and good fishing spots. Many of the islands have cottages, ranging from holiday homes to old fishing huts.

The national park consists of several islands in the Haparanda archipelago, of which the largest and most visited is Sandskär.
