Activities and sights in the national park

In Hamra National Park, you can hike Hamraleden, which offers varied nature throughout the entire park. You can start at Svartåentrén and walk through rugged, boulder‑strewn terrain along the river to the main entrance.

Myrlandskapet is a two‑part trail that takes you across the park’s mires. You can reach it from the main entrance and from Myrentrén.

From Myrentrén, you can reach the viewing tower, which offers a fine view over the mire landscape. From the main entrance, you can walk to the viewing point at Svansjön, where you get a good view of the lake.

A part of Hamra National Park burned in 2009. From the main entrance, you follow Myrslingan for about one kilometre to reach the burned area. Today, many new insect species can be found there.

If you walk for about ten minutes from Svartåentrén, you will reach a footbridge over a stream. Here you will find Svartån’s largest bedrock basin, carved out by meltwater from the Ice Age.
