The passenger boat to Gotska Sandön operates three days a week during summer, from 29 May to 30 August, departing from both Nynäshamn and Fårösund. The boat runs on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays (during Midsummer week: Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday). 

You need to buy your ticket in advance using the online booking service. Payment is made at the time of booking.

• Approx. 3 hours and 30 minutes from Nynäshamn
• Approx. 2 hours and 15 minutes from Fårösund

Day trips

You can make a day trip to Gotska Sandön from Nynäshamn during two periods:

• 29 May–21 June
• 29 July–30 August

On these days, the boat leaves Nynäshamn in the morning, travels via Gotska Sandön to Fårösund, and then returns.

Day trips from Nynäshamn can be booked no earlier than seven days before departure.

If you want to make a day trip from Gotland, you can do so between 1–26 July. The boat departs from Fårösund in the morning, travels via Gotska Sandön to Nynäshamn, and then returns.

Day trips from Gotland can be booked already now.

There are 50 bookable seats per departure for day visitors. The remaining seats are reserved for overnight guests in the national park.

Tips for packing

Because Gotska Sandön is remote and difficult to access, you need to pack carefully. Bring all the food you need for your stay, as there are no shops or services on the island.
