Packing tips for your visit
Gotska Sandön’s remote location means you need to pack smart for your visit to the national park. You must bring all the food you will need during your stay, as there are no shops or food services on the island.
Bring your own food
There are no shops or restaurants on Gotska Sandön. This means you need to bring everything you plan to eat and use during your stay.
Make sure to pack all the food you need for your visit. Remember to bring food for one extra day. The passenger boat may be cancelled in bad weather, and you might need to stay on the island longer than planned.
Pack light and pack smart
There is no harbour on Gotska Sandön. The boat will either land directly on the beach or passengers will transfer to an inflatable boat that brings you ashore.
When arriving with the passenger boat, all luggage is unloaded using a human chain, and visitors are expected to help. To make this process smooth, please follow these guidelines:
Pack a maximum of 15 kg per bag.
Use a water-resistant bag. If you transfer to an inflatable boat, your luggage may get splashed.
