There are several different types of accommodation on Gotska Sandön, ranging from private cabins with kitchens to hostel-style cabins, rental tents and tent pitches for your own tent. Although it is possible to visit the island on a day trip from both Nynäshamn and Fårösund, many visitors choose to book accommodation and stay for one or more nights.

Rental Cabins, Hostel Cabins and Tent Pitches

Fyrbyn

Here you will find several cabins of different sizes, all equipped with their own kitchens, toilets and showers. The cabins include pillows, duvets, saucepans, frying pans, plates, glasses, mugs, cutlery, washing-up liquid and kitchen paper.

Lägerplatsen

Here you will find hostel cabins, simple rental cabins and rental tents. The cabins vary in size and have shared kitchens, toilets and showers. Inside the cabins you will find pillows and duvets. The shared kitchens and cooking shelters are equipped with saucepans, frying pans, plates, glasses, mugs, cutlery, washing-up liquid and kitchen paper.

Camping in Your Own Tent

You can book a tent pitch for your own tent either at Lägerplatsen in the northern part of the island or at Nymans in the south. You may only pitch your tent in the marked tent areas. If you stay at Lägerplatsen, you may use the kitchen and other facilities there. At Nymans, there is no kitchen, so you need to bring your own camping stove. Toilets and drinking water are available at Nymans.
