There are no places to buy food on Gotska Sandön, so you need to bring everything you plan to eat during your stay. It’s a good idea to pack enough for an extra day, as boat departures can be cancelled if the weather turns rough.

You can prepare your meals in the shared kitchens at Lägerplatsen or at the barbecues in the designated areas. Fires and grilling are only allowed in these marked spots unless you have special permission.

In most cases, you can get permission to use your own portable grill or camping stove close to the waterline on the sheltered side of the island. If there is a fire ban in Gotland Municipality, permission will not be granted and no fires or grilling are allowed.
