Fulufjället National Park

Fulufjället offers a mountain experience like no other. Here, you can spot traces of Sweden’s largest animals and enjoy the wide‑open landscape on cross‑country skis, by snowmobile, or from a reindeer hide with a cup of hot chocolate.

Fulufjället National Park is an almost untouched natural area in the southern part of the Swedish mountain range.

Fulufjället rises as a plateau in the landscape, with steep sides and a flat top. No reindeer graze here. Therefore, the mountain heath is covered by thick carpets of lichen.

The park contains Njupeskär, one of the highest waterfalls in Sweden, at 93 metres with a free fall of 70 metres. Over thousands of years, the water has carved out a large gorge. From the top of the waterfall, you have a fantastic view of the gorge and the surrounding landscape.

In Fulufjället National Park, 395 different species of mosses and 421 different species of lichens grow.
