Staying in the park
Here you’ll find information about accommodation options in and around Färnebofjärden National Park.
There are several ways to spend the night in the national park.
Open rest cabins, campsites and shelters
There are four small rest cabins with very simple standards where you may stay for a maximum of two nights. These cabins are free of charge and cannot be booked.
The cabin at Alderbäcksrör is open from 1 January to 30 September. The other cabins are open all year round.
There are no marked trails or roads leading to Tinäsbodarna or Bengts Stuga, and the easiest way to reach them is by water.
There are 28 shelters where you are allowed to stay overnight. At twelve of these shelters, as well as at three additional locations, you may also camp, sleep in a hammock or sleep directly on the ground.
It is not permitted to spend the night outside these designated places within the national park.
Remember that the open cabins and shelters cannot be booked. You may need to share the space with other visitors.
Renting a cabin in the national park
There are two cabins available for rent in Färnebofjärden National Park: Torröstugan and StadArvids Stuga. Both are in the Tyttbo area, in the western part of the national park.
The cabins are rented out by the Swedish Tourist Association (Svenska Turistföreningen), and you can book them on their website. There you can also read more about each cabin.
Torröstugan
Torröstugan is located on the island of Torrön, just a short row across the River Dalälven in the Tyttbo area. The cabin has a kitchen, a large common room and four bedrooms with a total of six beds.
The rental fee includes the use of a rowing boat, with life jackets, for up to three adults.
