There is a lot to discover in Sweden’s national parks. You’ll find activities and sights that suit visitors of all ages.

Whether you want to walk along a marked trail, explore unique landscapes or pause at a viewpoint for a break, the parks offer plenty of ways for you to enjoy nature – from easy walks to scenic lookouts and deeper adventures into the wilderness.

Activities and sights in the national park

Färnebofjärden National Park offers a wide network of marked trails that take you through the park’s rich and varied landscapes. You can start your walk from several different entrances, and one of the trails is fully accessible – suitable if you use a wheelchair or are visiting with a pushchair.

But many visitors find that the best way to experience the park is from the water. With more than 200 islands, you can enjoy sunbathing, swimming and peaceful moments surrounded by nature. If you bring your own boat, you’ll find several suitable launching spots. You can also rent a boat from one of the park’s partners.

If you enjoy fishing, you can do so within the national park. There are three fishing management areas, and you need a valid fishing permit for the area where you plan to fish.

In the south‑western part of the park lies the Tinäs area, well known for its rich birdlife. Here you can spot several threatened species, including different woodpeckers and owls. The Skekarsbo Tower rises 20 metres above the ground and offers stunning views across the landscape, with the chance to spot white‑tailed eagles and ospreys. From the top floor of the tower, you can see almost the entire national park.
