The standard of the accommodation is very simple. Drinking water is collected directly from Lake Vänern, and the houses have outdoor toilets but no indoor WC.

The beds are equipped with mattresses and pillows. You need to bring your own bed linen and towels.

The kitchens include a gas cooker, a fridge and basic kitchen equipment such as cutlery and saucepans. You need to bring the food you wish to eat. At Djuröstugan, there is also a barbecue you may use.

Before leaving, you are responsible for cleaning the house. You must take all rubbish with you back to the mainland.
